Bells, sweet melodies, snow and presents. It's Christmastime...
The Nourallah Brothers sing 'Christmastime'. Just when you think you've heard it all, this happens, a Christmas song that floats between toe-curling sweetness and pure
beauty. Soon you'll find out Christmastime is more beauty than sweetness.
They don't exploit the cuteness, the song lasts for only 2 minutes - if only
the real Christmas days were that short and powerful! The Nourallah
Brothers are very good in creating tiny jewels of songs. Their voices sound
like only the voices between two brothers can sound. Classical sixties-like
choruses and as little accompaniment as necessary. Guitar, drum, bass and
every now and then, exactly at the right place, an organ or keyboard. The
sound is incredibly clear. The Nourallah Brothers are innocent and naive,
like the little laughing boys with cowboy-hats on the cover of the cd. In
the beginning and at the end of the album they tend to sound a bit too
smooth, but the part in the middle is extremely good. The brilliant list
'Heaven is the day', 'Public skool', 'I Wanna be an artist' and 'I'll
Remember You' are already unforgettable even when you've heard them once. This
family tie should never be broken.
