Among the venerable traditions of rock and roll, having a band with your brother ranks nearly as high as converting to an eastern religion or dying prematurely. It's easy to attest to how much sense it makes, at least at first, to pick up a like-minded fellow with whom you share meaningful life experiences, as well as parents, and recruit him as your musical cohort. From Don and Phil Everly, to the Kinks' Ray and Dave Davies, up through the Gallagher brothers of Oasis – there now exists a long line of volatile fraternal musical partnerships. The thing is, while it may seem like more fun than choking on your own vomit, it can be just as annoying and painful to share the stage and studio with a sibling. Just ask any of the aforementioned rock and roll families, all of whom have had bitter, prolonged and occasionally violent feuds. Better yet, just ask Salim and Faris Nourallah, of the aptly named Nourallah Brothers.

"In the three months it took Western Vinyl to prepare for the release of our CD, we didn't speak at all. We didn't see each other, not even at our parents' house. We avoided each other completely." They're speaking again right now but you get the feeling that old tensions are far from resolved, that a new fight or feud could break out at any minute.
